July 15 – Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) winner I Want Revenge was represented by his first winner when his daughter, Brexit Revenge, found the winner’s circle at Monmouth Park.
Sent off at odds of 13-1 in her debut for trainer and co-owner John Stephens on a track labeled good, Brexit Revenge rallied along the rail in the sixth race, a $36,000 off-the-turf five-furlong event, to win by a length against fellow maidens. She completed the distance in a final time of :59.70.
I Want Revenge was the morning line favorite for the 2009 Kentucky Derby after dramatic wins in the Gotham Stakes (G3) and Wood Memorial (G1). He finished his career with earnings of $928,000 for a partnership that included IEAH Stables. That parnerhip was brokered with original owner David Lanzman by thoroughbred agent Nick Sallusto of Sallusto & Albina bloodstock.
I Want Revenge currently stands at Millenium Farms in Kentucky.
