Blessed Halo Dominates in New York

NEWLOGOPrivate PurchaseMay 13 – Sallusto & Albina Private Purchase Blessed Halo sped to a wire-to-wire victory on Saturday atĀ Belmont Park.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, the three-year-old colt burst out the gate to quicky take command of the six-furlong Maiden Special event. He was on top by two lengths at the half-mile pole and coasted from there, cantering past the wire with a 3 1/4-length advantage.

Blessed Halo is trained by David Cannizzo and races in the colors of Z R J Stables. He was purchased after a good runner-up finish to Three Rules in the $200,000 Dr. Fager Stakes at Gulfstream Park last August.

Blessed Halo is among the 24 blacktype horses sired so far by Kantharos from just 120 starters (20%). Kantharos was a successful Sallusto & Albina pinhook before going on to become an unbeaten multiple Graded Stakes winner. The son of Lion Heart began his stallion career in Florida and, with his tremendous early success, moved to Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms in Kentucky for the 2017 breeding season.
