August 6 – Joseph Bulger’s Royal Inheritance zipped to a wire-to-wire victory in an $85,000 Allowance at historic Saratoga Racecourse. She has now won three straight races in New York and four of her five lifetime starts.
The three-year-old filly by Regal Ransom broke sharply under Manuel Franco and established the early lead through fractions of :22.76 and :45.93.
She held a two-length advantage at the top of the stretch and bravely repulsed several challenges down the lane. She crossed the wire a half-length in front of Libby’s Tail stopping the timer in 1:11.06 for the six furlong distance.
Trained by David Cannizzo, Royal Inheritance has never been worse than second in her career and has now earned $175,400. She was purchased by Sallusto & Albina bloodstock agents for $32,000 at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Old in Training sale.
Royal Inheritance also continues the string of recent successes by Sallusto & Albina purchases at America’s most important race meeting.
