August 6 – Two-Year-Old purchase Royal Inheritance scored a brave Saratoga Allowance victory in the colors of Joseph Bulger. It was her third straight triumph and fourth in five lifetime starts. Read more
August 7 – A filly by Curlin sold for $750,000 to Juddmonte Farms on opening night of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling sale. Bred & raised by Sallusto & Albina for Newton Anner Stud, she was the highest-priced filly of the session. Read more
August 8 – Another Newton Anner Stud filly proved popular at the Fasig-Tipton auction with a City Zip miss commanding a final bid of $325,000. Her price tag is the highest for a City Zip filly at the prestigious auction. Read more
August 11 – Private purchase Stallwalkin’ Dude powered to victory in the $100,000 Tale of the Cat Stakes at Saratoga, the millionaire’s third straight triumph in the race. Read more
August 12 – Beach Patrol bravely fought off a European invasion to capture the 35th Arlington Million. It was the Lemon Drop Kid colt’s second Grade 1 victory since being purchased by Sallusto & Albina for the partnership of James Covelo, Sheep Pond Partners and Head of Plains Partners 14 months ago. August 13 – A colt from the first crop by Revolutionary brought $100,000 at the Fasig-Tipton New York-bred sale. He’s the first six figure yearling for his sire and another bred by Sallusto & Albina for Newton Anner Stud.
