May 23 – Two fillies from the first cop by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm’s Violence were hammered down for $160,000 and $140,000, respectively, at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Old in Training sale.
Hip #104 sold for $160,000 during the opening session. The promising filly, out of the multiple stakes-producing Woodman mare Shouldn’t We All, was consigned by Parrish Farms.
On Day Two of the auction Hip #416, from the conignment of Paul Sharp, was hammered down for $140,000 to Chuck Zacney.
The two fillies bring the total of six-figure Violence two-year-olds to an impressive 21. There were big-sellers at the OBS April sale and a $277,000 colt at Tattersalls Craven, the most prestious two-year-old sale in Europe.
Violence was purhased as a yearling by the Sallusto & Albina bloodstock agency and went on to Grade 1 success in the CashCall Futurity. The son of Medaglia d’Oro has been one of the most popular young stallions in Kentucky since his retirement and he’s the first sire in his crop with a Stakes winner, Kentucky Juvenile S. winner Buy Sell Hold.
