Lot 46 at 2017 Tattersalls Craven Sale, Colt by Violence

Violence Colt Makes a Splash at Tattersalls Craven Sale

April 19 – A colt by Violence sold for 210,000 gns (about $268,000) to Stephen Hillen and Kevin Ryan at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up sale on April 19. The attractive bay was consigned by Star Bloodstock.

It was the latest commercial success for Violence, a Grade 1-winning son of Medaglia d’Oro who was purchased by Sallusto & Albina at the 2011 Keeneland September Sale. He was among the leaders of his sire crop with a 2016 yearling average of over $80,000 and a trio of his first crop juveniles brought over $300,000 at the OBS March sale last month.

Violence stands at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm in Kentucky for a $15,000 fee. He has bred an average of 167 mares his first three years at stud.
