Violence Continues Commercial Success at Fasig-Tipton July

Sallusto and Albina Stallion News logoJuly 12 – Commercial success continued for Violence with a $125,000 filly at the Fasig-Tipton July yearling sale.

Consigned by Bluewater Sales, the filly out of the Two Punch mare Yolanda B. Too was hammered down to Alistair Roden. She was bred and raised by Checkmate Thoroughbreds.

Checkmate principal Adrian Gonzalez purchased Yolanda B. Too for a bargan price out of the 2014 Keeneland November sale in-foal to Violence.

“I was at the November sale and we were looking at all the first-year babies and the Violences really stood out,” Gonzalez recounted to Thoroughbred Daily News. “We weren’t able to afford any of the Violence babies, so we started looking at mares in foal to him.”

The filly is member of the second crop by Violence. His first crop, juveniles of 2017, included an impressive 22 six-figure sellers

Violence was purhased as a yearling by the Sallusto & Albina bloodstock agents and went on to Grade 1 success in the CashCall Futurity. The son of Medaglia d’Oro has been one of the most popular young stallions in Kentucky since his retirement and he’s the first sire in his crop with a stakes winner, Kentucky Juvenile S. winner Buy Sell Hold.
